Install A Facebook Pixel On Squarespace

What is a Facebook Pixel?

A Facebook Pixel is an analytics tool used to measure the effectiveness of advertising by tracking visitor activity on a website. For example, if a site visitor views one of your products, the Facebook Pixel can read that information so you can display ads for the product to that same visitor. Facebook Pixel is a beneficial tool for any business, as it allows you to understand your audience better, build more effective advertising campaigns, and attract the right visitors to your website to drive more sales. This quick tutorial details how to set up the integration on your Squarespace website.

How do I install a Facebook Pixel on Squarespace?

Installing a Facebook Pixel on your Squarespace website is pretty simple, and only involves two main steps.

  1. Getting the code from Facebook

  2. Installing the code on your website

Step 1: Get the pixel ID from Facebook

In order to integrate Facebook Pixel with Squarespace, you will need your pixel ID:

  1. Go to your Facebook Ads Manager settings and find the Facebook Pixel section.

  2. Check the green box that says Create a Pixel.

  3. Write your own Pixel name- you may only have one per ad account. Note: If you upgrade to business manager, you are then able to add up to 10 additional names.

  4. Click Create.

  5. Copy the pixel ID for the Facebook pixel that you would like to add to your site. This is what you will paste onto your Squarespace website.

Step 2: Install the Facebook Pixel ID to Squarespace

  1. Login to your Squarespace website.

  2. Go to Marketing under the Home Menu and click > Facebook Pixel.

  3. Copy and paste your Facebook pixel ID into the field next to Facebook Pixel.

  4. Click Save in the upper left hand corner.

View website visitor data on Facebook

Once you’ve installed the Facebook Pixel on your Squarespace website, you will be able to start tracking “events” on your site. Events, according to Facebook, are specific actions that visitors can take on your site. You can create new audiences and find potential customers by placing an event code on key pages of your website. The event code will be able to track actions on your site depending on which ones you would like, such as product purchases or page visits.

Remove Facebook Pixel

If you are no longer interested in using the pixel to track new events from your Squarespace website, follow these steps:

  1. Go to Marketing under the Home Menu and click > Facebook Pixel.

  2. Erase the information in the Pixel ID field, and be sure to save your changes.
